Tuesday, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers directed the state's Department of Natural Resources to reopen several state parks, forest and recreational area with some special conditions.

The areas had previously been closed due to unprecedented crowds and an effort to protect public health in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Evers requested the DNR open 34 state parks and forests on Friday with added efforts to minimize overcrowding and promote social distancing requirements.
