A water skier was taken to the hospital after he collided with a Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol boat Saturday morning on Lake Minnetonka.

According to the sheriff's office, the collision happened around 6:40 a.m. in the Lower Lake of Lake Minnetonka south of Gale Island.

The water skier was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center. The extent of his injuries is unknown. The deputy was not harmed.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said it has asked the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office to investigate the incident.
