As the nation continues to celebrate the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a vigil was held Sunday evening at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was one of several speakers to pay tribute to the late Supreme Court justice, who died Friday from complications related to cancer at age 87.

"Justice Ginsburg’s life was a political life, and it was the best of our politics — the belief that together we can make a difference in each other’s lives, that justice can prevail," Walz said.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter have declared Monday as Ruth Bader Ginsburg Day in the Twin Cities.
