VIDEO: 'My heart hurts as a human being': Minnesota National Guardsman kneels with protesters

Monday night, hundreds of protesters made their way to the Minnesota State Capitol with an escort from St. Paul police.

After arriving at the Capitol, a National Guardsman joined protesters and supported them.

Kneeling with them, the Guardsman told protesters his troops would remain out of sight and allow them to peacefully exercise their First Amendment rights without interference.

"I'm sorry for your loss as a citizen of Minnesota, I'm sorry for your loss of George Floyd. My heart hurts as a human being," the Guardsman said in part.
