The Minneapolis Public Schools Board voted unanimously to have employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested regularly. The decision was finalized Tuesday night.

The policy will take effect by Oct. 15 and extends to contractors and volunteers who work directly with students.

However, the board rejected a plan that would require students to be vaccinated as well. The board voted against the proposal, saying it would be a challenge to track all the students' vaccination statuses. Plus, vaccinations for those ages 12 and under are yet to be approved.
