U.S. Attorney: St. Paul man sentenced for meth trafficking

A St. Paul man who was charged with meth trafficking after law enforcement officers seized more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine from his vehicle was sentenced Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 40-year-old Lucas Jay Madison was sentenced to almost 20 years (235 months) in prison.

Madison pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Agents find 25 pounds of meth worth close to $1M in Rice County traffic stop

Federal prosecutors say Madison and a co-conspirator were stopped in Faribault in April by law enforcement while they were returning from Arizona.

During the stop, the officer seized 23 pounds of meth. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, during a search of Madison’s home, officers found more methamphetamine, a handgun and THC cartridges.
