A teen who was an occupant of a vehicle involved in a crash in St. Paul has died, according to police.

A St. Paul Police Department report says the crash occurred on April 27. The 17-year-old died as a result of her injuries Thursday at Regions Hospital, according to police.

A spokesperson for the department said an officer was northbound on Dale Street near Como Avenue when he saw a vehicle traveling southbound that was possibly a suspect vehicle in recent crimes.

The officer ran the plate and learned it was a stolen vehicle.

The spokesperson said the officer made a u-turn to find the vehicle when he saw the vehicle accelerating on Burgess Street.

The suspect vehicle kept traveling on Burgess Street when it struck another vehicle at Western Avenue. Police said the crash led the suspect vehicle to lose control on Burgess Street and struck a tree.

All five occupants of the vehicle were taken to Regions Hospital. Four of the occupants suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
