Police are investigating after a taxi driver was found dead in Moorhead early Wednesday morning.

According to Moorhead Police, officers were called to the 3000 block of 20th Street South on a report of a single-vehicle crash at 3:30 a.m.

Officers found a taxi driver already dead in the driver's seat with "suspicious trauma" to his body. No other victims were located, police said.

Investigators believe the taxi was traveling east when it drove over the roadway, crossed railroad tracks and came to a rest on the other side of the tracks.

An investigation is underway.
