UPDATE:

Surly Brewing Company has revised its reopening date to Saturday.

The company stated that the beer hall will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Workers say this is the first phase of a four-phase reopening, with the first phase including beer service and a Surly food truck available for visitors. The beer hall and beer garden will also have limited hours.

The business plans to be open from Wednesday through Friday 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Twenty tap lines will be active to start.

Surly Brewing Company announced Wednesday it plans to tentatively reopen its beer hall and garden on June 1.

The Minneapolis brewery stated the date could change, based on how public health guidelines evolve.

The brewery stated via social media the decision to reopen was "thanks to the remarkable progress being made on the vaccination front in MN."

Last year, Surly announced it was closing its beer hall indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, citing difficulties in adapting to changing "city, state and federal COVID-19 health and safety regulations" as a reason for the decision.

Surly to close beer hall 'indefinitely' on Nov. 2

In late August of last year, shortly before the closure announcement, Surly employees announced their intent to unionize.

While the group at first filed an unfair labor charge against Surly, stating the closure was a union-busting effort, the complaint was then withdrawn and an announcement was issued that employees had reached an agreement with management on a union election process.

However, in October, a majority vote in favor of unionization was not reached.

In terms of the beer hall reopening, Surly stated more updates would be released as they are available.
