Squirrel stashes nuts in Pine County officer’s squad

A law enforcement officer in Pine County got a unique surprise on Monday and then made an interesting discovery: a stash of nuts in his squad car.

The Pine County Sheriff’s Office said, as the officer was driving, a squirrel popped out from underneath his computer and jumped onto the dash. The squirrel then ran somewhere behind the officer, so the officer pulled over and open the squad’s doors to let the squirrel out.

While the officer never found the squirrel, he did find a bunch of nuts stashed in the back of the vehicle.

"These nuts have now been placed in evidence. If anyone sees a squirrel looking for his food, we are looking for said squirrel for questioning in relation to this incident," the sheriff’s office jokingly posted on social media.
