A snowmobile fell through the ice and into a lake in Meeker County on Saturday.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a report of a snowmobile through the ice on Lake Koronis at about 7 a.m.

The sheriff's office said it happened about 100 feet from shore, a mile east of the south access.

The snowmobile's driver and passenger told deputies they hit a soft patch of ice and fell through the ice, submerging the snowmobile.

Fortunately, the driver and passenger were both able to make it out of the water to safety and weren't injured.
