The battle for the best water tower in America is underway and Minnesota landmarks are earning high marks.

Industrial paint and lining company Tnemec is asking people to vote for their favorite tank, with about 300 from across the county in the contest. Two from Minnesota are currently in the top five, with Rochester's ear of corn tank in the top spot and Moorhead's mural tank in third place.

Voting wraps up Friday night; the winner will be announced on Oct. 22. The top tank and 11 runners up will be featured in Tnemec's annual calendar.
