Thursday, Cass County authorities reported the remains of a man missing since 2018 were found earlier this month.

On June 7, the Cass County Sheriff's Office received a report of human remains found in a heavily-wooded area of Blind Lake Township.

The remains were sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for identification.

The medical examiner identified the remains as belonging to 62-year-old David Rickbeil, of Ham Lake.

Rickbeil's vehicle was found running and unoccupied on July 13, 2018, the sheriff's office reported. An extensive search was conducted, involving ATV, drone and K9 support.

The sheriff's office reported no foul play was suspected and that Rickbeil likely walked away from his vehicle.
