Nuns from Latin America visited George Floyd Square on Monday.

They prayed and sang at the spot where George Floyd was murdered by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin at the intersection of East 38th Street and Chicago Avenue South.

The sisters say the memorial is important to the social justice movement in the U.S.

They are enrolled at Saint Mary’s University in partnership with the Catholic Extension Society.
