The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning in northern Minnesota, indicating weather conditions are ideal for wildfires. 

There is a restriction not to burn in Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, Lake of the Woods and St. Louis counties. Critical weather conditions include strong winds and low humidity. 

The Department of Natural Resources is encouraging people to check any recent burning to ensure it is out. 

The warning expires at 6 p.m. today.
