The Dunn County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Friday. 

According to Sheriff Kevin Bygd and the Menomonie Fire Department, the fatal crash happened on Highway 12 in Lucas Township.

Officers received a report of a single motorcycle crash at about 9 p.m. on Friday and found a single unresponsive male upon arrival. He was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle after striking a deer.

The man suffered life threatening injuries and was airlifted by helicopter from the scene. Despite life-saving measures, he passed away Saturday at an Eau Claire hospital.

The crash is being investigated by the sheriff's office and county medical examiner.
