Earlier this month, organizers announced the cancellation of this year's Aquatennial, citing COVID-19 and the aftermath of George Floyd's death as reasons.

Instead, organizers have encouraged those interested in the Aquatennial to follow along on social media this week "as we share Aquatennial activities, content and memories."

Organizers said they expect the event will return in 2021, with the parade and fireworks included.
