One dead after St. Paul stabbing Friday

One man is dead after a Friday night stabbing in St. Paul, according to police.

At about 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a man lying in the street at Seventh Street East and White Bear Avenue, in the east side of the city. Upon arrival, they found a man in his 20s with a likely stab wound. Police secured the scene. St. Paul fire medics took the man to Regions Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.

A homicide investigation is underway. As of 2:41 a.m. Saturday, police haven’t determined a motive and have made no arrests. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy and release the man’s identity and cause of death in the coming days.

This is the 23rd homicide in 2021 for St. Paul.
