Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) on Tuesday said it will begin to open 20 wading pools across the city on July 4.

The locations will focus on areas of the city without lakes or other bodies of water, according to MPRB.

Those pools will be open seven days per week from noon to 6:30 p.m., and all wading pool areas will have a limited capacity to allow for social distancing. Because of the limited capacity, MPRB asks people to limit their time at the pools to two hours so others can use them.

Public restrooms will also be open during the wading pools' hours but drinking fountains won't.
