A Fridley woman died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash.

The Carver County Sheriff's Office said it received a report of a crash at 3:23 p.m. on County Road 40 near 188th Street in San Francisco Township.

Deputies responded and found that the motorcyclist, identified as 48-year-old Laura Loge, had suffered traumatic injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation indicates Loge was southbound on County Road 40 when she lost control of the motorcycle. The sheriff's office said a witness said Loge ran off the road after encountering rocks and gravel off the road edge, and she then traveled down a ditch embankment and struck a wooden power utility pole.
