Motorcycle collides with SUV in Sawyer County, killing 1, injuring 1

One person was killed and another was taken to a hospital after a motorcycle collided with an SUV near Hayward, Wisconsin, Monday afternoon.

According to the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a reported crash involving a motorcycle on County Highway CC in the town of Hunter at about 1:37 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said initial investigation indicates a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle with two passengers was headed south on County Highway CC when it crossed the center line and collided with a northbound GMC Yukon.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 60-year-old Kenneth A. Link was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. His passenger, 58-year-old Carla Link, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the GMC weren’t injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
