It's still unclear what will happen to the 2020 Minnesota State Fair but event organizers say they aren't discussing any changes or restrictions if the Great Minnesota Get-Together is going to happen.
According to a Facebook post, they say that as of right now, there is no specific date by which a decision to hold the fair must be made, but the answer will be more clear in the upcoming weeks as they continue to talk to their partners.
Currently, "alternate fair dates, a change in duration of the fair, or significant restrictions are not being considered," Minnesota State Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer said in a statement.
"At its heart, the State Fair is a grand celebration where all feel welcome, safe and secure. We are discussing and considering options that will enable us to provide that experience in 2020." Hammer also stated.
Fair organizers said they will continue to remain hopeful, but that ultimately they will do the right thing for Minnesota.
Gov. Tim Walz also weighed in on the fair during his daily afternoon briefing on Thursday saying it's hard "very difficult" to imagine having the State Fair this year but said no final decision has been made yet.
