Minneapolis man who died from gunshot wounds identified

The man who died from gunshot wounds on Friday has been identified as Wesley Michael May, 23, of Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

The examiner stated that May’s death was caused by two gunshot wounds to the neck and chest. The manner of death is a homicide.

According to the city of Minneapolis, at 2 p.m. on Friday, police were called to the 3100 block of East 58th Street on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located May suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders provided care; however, May was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary information shows that the shooting was related to a domestic incident. 24-year-old Destiny Marie Tlatenchi was detained and arrested for probably cause murder.

Tlatenchi is yet to be officially charged in the case. The incident remains under investigation.
