Man taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after overnight shooting in Crystal

Police in Crystal are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning that left one person seriously injured.

According to Crystal Police, dispatchers received a report that a person had been shot outside a restaurant in the 5200 block of West Broadway Avenue at about 2:10 a.m.

Officers responded to the area and found a 27-year-old man in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Lifesaving efforts were attempted, and the victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said no suspects were in custody as of Sunday morning, but a witness described a white SUV leaving the area at a high rate of speed after hearing the shots.

The department said the shooting is still under investigation but police don't believe the incident was random or that the public is in danger at this time.
