Man taken to hospital after being shot in face in St. Paul

A man was taken to a hospital Friday night after being shot in the face in St. Paul.

According to St. Paul Police, officers were called to the 600 block of St. Albans Street at about 5:45 p.m. on a report of multiple shots fired. Witnesses also reported seeing a white truck fleeing from the area at the time the shots were fired.

Officers working nearby found the truck and conducted a traffic stop. A 32-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants and narcotics charges, police said.

Police then found a 39-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his face at the intersection of Dale Street and Thomas Avenue. The department said officers rendered aid before medics took the man to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates two men were in an alley when they were shot by an unidentified suspect.

No other details were immediately available.
