A rural Litchfield man was seriously injured Friday in an auger accident.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office said deputies, along with fire and rescue crews from Dassel and Litchfield, responded to the 68000 block of State Highway 24 at 2:09 p.m. on a report of a man stuck in an auger inside a grain bin.

First responders found 35-year-old Jared Johnson with both of his feet trapped in a sweeper auger.

Authorities applied tourniquets to his legs before he was airlifted to a hospital.
