Loring Park Art Festival canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Loring Park Art Festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a release from the festival, the directors of the festival made the difficult decision to cancel the annual event scheduled for July 25 and 26.

"Loring Park Art Festival has been a summer staple in Minneapolis for the last twenty years so the decision to cancel this year's event was not taken lightly," said Director Pat Parnow. "Given the uncertainty of the pandemic and the disquietude we're all feeling, hosting the Loring Park Art Festival this summer is not in the best interest of our artists and our local community."

The team plans to continue supporting artists by posting images, videos and website links on the Facebook event page until all accepted artists have been promoted, according to the release.

Assistant Director Cindy Jacobson said, "We'll be back next year to celebrate art, summer and health."
