UPDATE: The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that a man's body was recovered from the Mississippi River Friday night.

Crews from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol unit, Minneapolis Police and Minneapolis Fire had started conducting a recovery operation at about 5 p.m. near the Ford Parkway Bridge.

No other information was immediately available.

The man's identity and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office at a later time.
