Sen. Amy Klobuchar announced she is submitting a request to the Justice Department to ask they work with state and local leaders in the ongoing investigations into George Floyd's death.

Specifically, in the letter made available Friday, Klobuchar asks federal leaders open an investigation "to evaluate unconstitutional patterns and practices of violent policing targeting communities of color in the Minneapolis Police Department that contributed to Mr. Floyd's tragic and unjust death."
