The Interstate 35W Bridge will be lit on Friday to commemorate a local philanthropic organization that supports higher education for women.

The Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) has brought together more than half a million women in the United States and Canada who are passionate about helping women advance through education while supporting and motivating them, according to a release.

The organization has given over $360 million to over 120,000 women in the last 150 years.

The I-35W Bridge will be lit yellow and white to honor P.E.O. and the organization's support of higher education for women.
