One person was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 7 in Hutchinson on Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened near Omega Avenue just after 2 p.m. All lanes of Highway 7 near Omega Avenue were closed but have since reopened.

The State Patrol says a Chrysler Pacifica was eastbound on Highway 7, turning left onto Omega Avenue and was followed by a red Ford F-150. The Ford collided with the Chrysler, then crossed into the westbound lane of Highway 7 and collided with a white Ford F-150 that was westbound.

The driver of the red Ford suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to the crash report. The man, identified as 73-year-old Jerome Veryl Karg, of Brownton, was not wearing his seat belt, the report states.
