A home is believed to be a total loss after a fire in Blaine, Wednesday afternoon.
The Blaine Fire Department said the fire call came in at 2:26 p.m. When the first crew arrived to the 2800 block of Aspen Lake Drive Northeast, heavy smoke was coming from the back of the house.
Officials said the fire started in the basement of the house and then spread throughout the structure.
The two children and two pets who were home at the time were able to escape without injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
