Fire destroys garage in Lake Henry

A Sunday afternoon fire in Lake Henry destroyed a garage.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and firefighters responded to the 33000 block of 220th Street at about 3:30 p.m.

A relative who lives just west of the address noticed a large amount of smoke and went to investigate. When he got to the address, he found a detached garage fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames but the garage and everything inside, including a 1999 Ford F-250, was a total loss. Other nearby objects were also damaged, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said a wood stove inside the garage is what’s believed to have started the fire.

The property’s owner wasn’t home at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
