A fatal crash in Monticello has closed a portion of northbound Highway 25 in Monticello Monday morning.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said the crash closed the highway's northbound lanes from Interstate 94 to Seventh Street. The Minnesota State Patrol said that closure is expected to last for an extended period of time.

The ramp from westbound Interstate 94 to Highway 25 was also closed, Smith said.

A preliminary incident report from the Minnesota State Patrol states a semi truck with an attached dump trailer was exiting westbound I-94 onto the northbound Highway 25 ramp when it hit a bicyclist at the intersection.
