Faribault man pleads guilty to illegal firearm possession

A Faribault man has pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Andrew Albert Comeaux pleaded guilty to one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

According to the guilty plea, on June 15, a search warrant was executed on Comeaux’s residence. During the search, law enforcement recovered a .22-caliber rifle and a Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54R-caliber rifle.

Comeaux admitted to possessing an AR-15 style pistol with a large-capacity magazine and homemade suppressor/silencer.

Comeaux has prior felony convictions in Blue Earth and Le Sueur counties. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 25.
