The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says all of its buildings at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds will be closed during the 12-day event.

The buildings include the main DNR building, the Parks and Trails Center, Fire building and Fire Tower will be closed to the public, a spokesperson confirmed to KSTP on Thursday.

"The DNR is looking forward to providing both in-person and virtual events at this year's Minnesota State Fair, but is making some modifications to its presence," DNR Communication Director Gail Nosek said. "With the health and safety of DNR employees, volunteers, and the public in mind, and to better highlight opportunities to connect people to the outdoors, the DNR will focus on the many outdoor features of its grounds."

The DNR says its information center, fish pond, partner booths, bird shows and live music from its outdoor stage will still be available to the public.
