Delivery driver shot in Cottage Grove, police searching for suspect

UPDATE: Cottage Grove Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Otis Donnell Shipp for 2nd Degree Attempted Murder with Washington County Court. Shipp later turned himself in.

A delivery driver was taken to a hospital after being shot late Tuesday night in Cottage Grove.

The Cottage Grove Department of Public Safety said officers were called to the Holiday gas station on Douglas Road at 10:28 p.m. on a report that someone had been shot. There, officers learned the victim had been shot while delivering food and drove to the gas station for help.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, investigators determined the shooting happened in the driveway of a townhome along Ironwood Avenue and evidence was recovered. However, the suspect fled before police were called.

Authorities said more information on the suspect will be released at a later time.

The case remains active and the investigation is ongoing.
