Authorities are investigating a burglary at a metro gun shop in which several guns were taken.

Total Defense Gun Shop and Range said two burglars broke into its store and stole several handguns early Sunday morning.

According to Total Defense, the burglars gained access to the store at about 5 a.m. and took handguns from the rental cabinets.

The gun shop said the burglars were "extremely sloppy and will hopefully be caught soon."

"There is nothing worse than knowing that there are now stolen firearms on the street and we hope and pray that they are recovered before they can be used in any crimes," Total Defense added.

Total Defense also thanked Ramsey Police and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office for their work, and posted screenshots of the burglars from their surveillance video on Facebook.

Anyone with information that could help authorities is asked to contact Ramsey Police or the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
