Body recovered from Mississippi River near Franklin Avenue Bridge

Emergency crews pulled a body from the Mississippi River on Monday near the Franklin Avenue Bridge, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to a report of a body on the shoreline of the west bank of the river just before 7:30 p.m. A fireboat found the body of the victim about 3 feet from shore.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol is handling the investigation.

The fire department said it did not have any identifying information on the victim as of Monday evening.
