Allianz Field to be used as Ramsey County ballot return location

Allianz Field in St. Paul will be used as a ballot return location.

Minnesota United announced Thursday that it was partnered with Ramsey County to create another location for voters to drop off their ballots.

"We’re honored to have Allianz Field be a ballot return location for Ramsey County, and to serve the second largest county in the state," said Minnesota United CEO Chris Wright. "It is so important to provide accessible voting options to registered voters, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and we believe Allianz Field is easily accessible to our community, whether via car, light rail, bus or on foot."

Beginning on Oct. 29, Ramsey County residents will be able to return their ballots for the 2020 election at the Brew Hall at Allianz Field. A curbside option will also be available on Shields Avenue.

Ballot returns at Allianz Field will be available:

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Oct. 20,
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 31,
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2.

"We’re grateful for this partnership with Minnesota United to offer Allianz Field as a safe and easily accessible location for Ramsey County voters to return their absentee ballots in person," said Ramsey County Board Chair Toni Carter. "This effort aligns with Ramsey County’s ongoing commitment to increasing access to voting and ensuring that everyone has a voice in deciding the direction of their community and country, which has become even more critical during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Minnesota United also said it has protocols in place to keep staff and voters safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Those include social distance queues at each station and hand sanitizer stations. Masks are also required indoors and free masks will be available for those who need them. Anyone refusing to wear a mask will be directed to the curbside tent.
