The Hopkins Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Monday morning.

The department said, at about 7:48 a.m., police responded to the report of a motorcycle crash in the area of Fifth Street South and 16th Avenue South. Upon arrival, officers located a 43-year-old man from Hopkins deceased at the scene.


The investigation is ongoing and the victim's name will be released at a later time by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Minnesota State Patrol and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office are assisting with the investigation.
