A 39-year-old woman who was killed in a shooting in north Minneapolis on Monday has been identified.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, Samantha Javae Taylor, of Minneapolis, died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The shooting happened on the 700 block of West Broadway Avenue at about 6:28 p.m. Police found Taylor dead at the scene. Another victim showed up at North Memorial Medical Center and, as of Monday, was in critical condition.

An initial investigation indicates that a male suspect shot the two victims and then ran away. There have been no arrests announced in relation to this case.

KSTP has reached out to MPD for further updates but has yet to hear back.
