A man and woman were injured following a shooting early Friday morning in Inver Grove Heights.

According to the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, police were notified at about 5 a.m. about two people who were being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center for gunshot wounds.


They were identified as a 47-year-old woman and 43-year-old man. Authorities learned they were shot on the 5500 block of Bishop Avenue.

The woman was treated for her injuries and has been released from the hospital. The man is currently in stable condition and remains at HCMC.

Investigators say they are in the early stages of the investigation and are still attempting to piece together what exactly took place. The scene is being processed and people are being interviewed at this time.
