A person was critically injured Tuesday night after a fire in Minneapolis's Hale neighborhood.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews responded to a reported fire in the 5000 block of 14th Avenue South at about 10:14 p.m. There, firefighters found a man still inside the home on the first floor.

The man was carried out of the home and received immediate medical attention, the department said. He was then taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread much to the rest of the home.
