Minnesota Moment: Race for Automotive Education

Updated: January 15, 2020 10:27 PM

People hit the track in Burnsville Wednesday night to race for a good cause.

Members of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers competed in races at ProKart Indoor Racing as part of the 18th annual Race for Automotive Education.

The event is the primary fundraiser for the AASP-MN Automotive Education Fund, which provides financial help to automotive students while helping to enhance automotive programs and raise awareness of career opportunities in the industry.

The event was expected to raise more than $11,000. Organizers said most of that money will fund scholarships for Minnesota students in NATEF-certified auto programs.
