Minnesota Moment: After 17 years, curtain drops on popular Twin Cities dance series

Updated: January 22, 2020 10:51 PM

It was a final curtain call Wednesday night for a popular dance series in Minneapolis.

"9x22" has been taking place at the Bryant-Lake Bowl for the past 17 years.

Laurie Van Wieren has been helping artists by providing the series for dancers, performers and choreographers to try out their latest efforts and get feedback on their work.

Van Wieren is known as a dance advocate in the Twin Cities, and Wednesday night's event sold out as people came out for the final performances.

The event got its name from the size of the small stage, which makes it a challenge for performers to work on their craft.
