Shriners Healthcare for Children-Twin Cities announced Thursday that it plans to move its facility to a new building in Woodbury. 

The organization said it plans to make the move to the new facility by the summer of 2020.

Shriners Healthcare for Children cited highway access, area amenities and the opportunity to design and build out as reasons for the move. 

"Current healthcare trends, such as more outpatient-oriented care, required us to adjust our delivery model to more accurately reflect today's environment," Roger Robinson, chairman of the Board of Governors for Shriners Healthcare for Children-Twin Cities, said in a statement. 

Shriners Healthcare for Children is currently located on East River Parkway in Minneapolis.
