The nation got news last week that took many by surprise. Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor announced in a public letter she has dementia.
O'Connor is one of 4.5 million Americans over the age of 65 with dementia. She wrote that it is likely Alzheimer's disease.
A neuroscience research expert said O'Connor is likely experiencing "mild cognitive impairment."
