UPDATE: Victim in deadly St. Paul motorcycle crash identified

Police have identified a woman who died after a motorcycle crash Thursday night in St. Paul.

The crash happened near the intersection of Ivy Avenue East and White Bear Avenue, just after 10 p.m.

Officers with the St. Paul Police Department said the motorcycle’s driver ran from the scene after colliding with a vehicle.

As of Friday morning, police were continuing the search for the driver.

The victim, 38-year-old Amy Metzen of St. Paul, was a passenger on the motorcycle. According to the St. Paul police, neither the motorcycle’s driver nor the passenger were wearing helmets.

The department also reported learning the motorcycle had been stolen in St. Paul.

The driver of the vehicle involved told police he was in the southbound lane of White Bear Avenue, waiting to turn left onto Ivy Avenue and as he was turning, the motorcycle hit the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation.
