Woman injured in Brooklyn Park shooting, no suspects

A woman was injured Wednesday after a shooting in Brooklyn Park.

According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers were dispatched at about 5 p.m. on reports of shots being fired in the 6300 block of Zane Avenue N. While responding, a caller contacted 911 confirming that a woman had been struck in the lower body and was being transported to a nearby hospital by private vehicle.

A preliminary investigation determined that two individuals exchanged gunfire from across the roadway at each other. The victim was interviewed at the hospital and is most likely a bystander unrelated to the incident, according to police.

The victim did not suffer injuries considered to be life-threatening in the incident. No suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
